In the story Deep water by William O. Douglas
He was ten years old and was going to go swimming
In a Y.M.C.A. pool. And this big kid about eighteen years old
kid tossed him into the deep end of the pool. Sitting position and
swallowed some water into his way into the pool.
And he was frightened. Many times he tried to get up for some air
But the kid would keep pushing him under the water.
And mainly he panicked through out the story and nearly died
because this kid was pushing him under the water.
My story about almost drowning but it is not nearly as bad as the story Deep Water but I do remember panicking a little and starting going under the water. I was at my swimming lessons and I would go many times a week
when I would say I was about six-seven years old. There was two swimming ladies to help us out as a group. But both of them where running two groups instead of one.
Then when they where with the other group
I was swimming I was getting tired and sleepy and
I started going under the water and I panicked a little and for some reason I did not say help or anything. So luckily one of the kids on the other group said
Look!
And then one of the swimming ladies went under and got me.
And they the rest of the time they watched me.
So compared to the story it did not sound that bad but it was scary for me. And I did not throw up like in the story "Deep Water" but I was tired. And I did not nearly die. Like the person in the story nearly did.
And there was no person throwing me into the water. Like there was one in the story. But overall I'm really lucky that I did not drown that day.
And I did not nearly die. And that was my day at one of my
Swimming lessons.

"The Pearl"
What are some lessons learned in the book? "The Pearl"
The author of the " The Pearl" is John Steinbeck.
Through out the book Kino was the person that learned the most.
For the beginning of the book Kino was a very nice person but as the story went on that's not how it ended.
In the book most of the time Kino was in love with this pearl he found.
And this was not a ordinary pearl thathe found this was a monster pearl. It was very big and he needed to find one For his son Coyotito. Because Coyotito got stung by a scorpion and Coyotito is very ill. And then the "so what called doctor" would not do it for free to try to help the baby with the pain. And what made Kino in love with the pearl is what he could do anything with all the money it's worth.
And Kino and his village is very poor so that pearl is defiantly worth a lot to Kino and his family.
And when Kino thought he would get a lot for the pearl. And he ends up getting the money for the pearl of what he wanted for it. But Kino never sold the Pearl. And in the end of the book Kino nearly has nothing. He ends up not really having anything because Everyone wants that pearl and people tried to hurt and kill Kino and his family for the pearl. This is want Kino gave up for the pearl. He killed five men, hurt his wife, put his family in danger, His home burned down, His boat is broken (too bad to fix) , and worse of all his son dies by getting shot in the head with a gun. Which was all very important to Kino and his Family.
All of that in the end of the book made Kino relies how bad the pearl is so then Kino throws it back in the ocean. But you can see that he was not nice at all in the in end of the book.
But at the end Kino gets better by throwing the pearl back in the ocean.
So overall what Kino learned is do not love something to much as Juana said in the book.(page 39) And that is what the main lesson learned in this book "The Pearl." But is there any more lessons to be learned?

Journal reflectionn "The Pearl" Ending of the book
I did not see it coming that Coyotito would died like that in the book.
But I was a little confused about that though. It was good that Kino and Juana are not hurt or anything like that from the trip at least nothing that big.
Some lessons that were learned in the story is you can't love something to much. Like Kino loved that Pearl so much and he would not let that go.
Thankfully Kino through the pearl into the water as hard as he could. So that was good to do at the end of the book. So overall it was a good book to read.

Why does Juana believe the pearl will destroy her and Kino? How will the pearl destroy them? Give examples to support your opinion.
Why Juana believes that the pearl will destroy her and Kino is it is a evil thing and it will destroy them if you keep the pearl. She said that you can't want something to much. But Kino is in love with that pearl and he thinks of what he could do with the pearl.
How I think how the pearl will destroy them everyone wants that
Pearl so people could try to hurt or kill them or maybe Kino wants to keep it. And he gets in fight(s) with people.

Chapter 1 and 2
So far the mom and dad are trying to help the baby get better from the poison. And at first the doctor did not want to help because first he thought that they were animals.
And they had nothing to give the doctor for the doctor to help them . And Kino found a huge pearl and he dose not know what to do the pearl.
But I think that he will sell it to someone and give the money to the doctor to pay for theMedicine for Coyotito. And that is what has happed so far in the book.
